Albow

Albow is an international network of sites promoting live performance.

Each site in the network contains content uploaded by and for its community. Albow then takes that content and shows it wherever in the network it’s relevant, be that locally, nationally or globally. So you can be part of a local community and reach a global audience.

Why do this?

We find ourselves spending more and more time in front of screens. We really value live performance so we want to do all we can to encourage people to get out and experience more of it and to keep making it.

Can I get a site like this for my locality?

Yes! We’re really interested in growing our network – as it grows it becomes healthier. We partner with agencies (development agencies, Theatres or performance schools) in a particular locality in order that they can drive the community in that area. Having an offline presence in a locality is an important part of the success of our sites.

How much does it cost?

To find out more about the costs (which we’ve managed to keep incredibly low) and what’s involved in setting up an Albow site in your locality please drop us a line at iwantonelikethis@albow.com or if you’re not sure yet iquiteliketheideaofhavingasitelike-thisbutwanttoknowmore@albow.com or if you are feeling a little more conventional seth [at] albow.com or tom [at] albow.com and either of us will be happy to talk to you about what’s involved.

Who profits?

Everyone. We aren’t volunteers but this project is about social profit not commercial profit. Any economic profit (if that day ever comes) will be reinvested in the network. If we wanted to make shed loads of money we’d be working in another industry.
